Things to do in Stoke this Summer

There’s nothing we’d like better than to see you in Stoke this summer because there’s so much to see and do. We’d include our escape rooms in that list too because they really are the best in testing your skills and having fun with friends and family, all at the same time. We’ve included a few other venues from in and around Stoke, so you have plenty of choice.

Gladstone Pottery Museum

This is a fantastic trip for the whole family as it is informative, interesting and fun. It’ll give you a deep insight into how pottery has been produced in the past and how it has evolved into what it is today. You’ll get to see how people worked and lived, and come away with an abundance of new knowledge.

Anderton Boat Lift

If you love boats then you’ll love this Victorian waterway which has been restored back to its former glory following a £7 million restoration programme. The Boat Lift opened in 2002, although it was originally opened back towards the tail end of the 19th century. Today you’ll find a visitor centre and a great attraction for visitors and boat owners/enthusiasts.

Stafford Castle

This Norman castle is the perfect Summer trip with motte and bailey fortresses the whole family will feel like you have stepped back in the 14th century. There was a gothic reconstruction where you’ll also find what remains of some baileys further down the hillside. You and the family can discover the finds of an archaeological dig and there’s also a video of the site’s history.

The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery

This museum boasts one of the finest collections of ceramics in the world. This includes the National Minton Collection. So, if you’re really into Staffordshire ceramics this is the place for you. There’s also a fine collection of prints, drawings, costumes, glass and paintings to explore too. There’s older historic pieces to view such as ancient Roman pots and a Rodin bronze. You can also discover more via events and exhibitions and touch-screen computers.

We really would recommend a visit to our escape rooms in Stoke, because if you want to test your mental skills, and have fun with friends and family then our Escape Rooms are perfect for that. If it rains and the boats and castle are a no-no, then an afternoon having fun in one of our carefully constructed escape room is the perfect antidote, offering plenty of opportunity to test communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills to the max.
